SA Family Owned & Operated Since 1971
Good sleep begins with choosing the right bedding, which includes finding the correct pillow. With over 50 years of designing, developing, constructing and manufacturing an extensive range of pillows, you can trust that Dyne’s premium, high-quality Goose Down Pillows and Duck Down Pillows are the best in Tasmania.
Our Goose Down Pillows and Duck Down Pillows are sourced independently in Europe from free-range farms where ducks and geese roam free of cages, while temperatures regularly plummet well below freezing. This, in turn, produces very large, mature and insulatory down and feathers. All of these are then collected, treated and processed so that they are completely chemical and bacteria-free, giving you peace of mind as you lay your head.
How To Choose the Perfect Pillow for You
1. Think about your most preferred sleeping position.
Some people sleep primarily on their back, some sleep mainly on their side and others prefer to sleep on their stomach. Knowing which position you tend to sleep in is important for picking the correct pillow.
2. Choosing your pillow to suit your preferred sleeping position.
- If you are a stomach sleeper, you will need a soft, fairly low pillow. Having a low pillow will assist in allowing your neck to stay more in line with your spine.
- If you are a back sleeper, look for a medium/regular height pillow. You do not want a high pillow, as this will push your head too far forward.
- If you are a side sleeper, you will need a high/firm pillow to help support your neck through your shoulder line. This does not apply if you have a very petite body frame; otherwise, consider looking at the regular height pillows.
- If you find that you are a mixed sleeper, and you sleep in a variety of positions throughout the night, look for a pillow that is of medium/regular thickness.
3. Dyne 12-Month Adjustment Service.
Dyne offers a 12-month adjustment service on your pillow. So if it is too high or too low, we will happily alter your pillow to suit your personal requirements, whether it's adding fill to increase support or removing fill to reduce firmness. We will not charge you for our time and labour. This service hopes to ensure that you will have the perfect pillow you deserve. *The only cost would be the cost of additional fill.

Duck Down or Goose Down?
- A duck is a smaller bird than a goose and normally produces a smaller down cluster therefore for equivalent warmth in a quilt you need a higher fill weight. A mature goose down also has a stronger down cluster giving you the ultimate in lightness, warmth and longevity. In saying this a lower quality goose down can be surpassed by a higher quality duck down. Our Polish goose down with a European fill power of 850 will give you the ultimate bedding.
-
I have Asthma, can I use a down pillow?
-
Dust mite faeces is a significant irritant to millions of asthma and allergy sufferers around the world. Researchers in New Zealand have discovered that synthetic quilts and pillows contain seven times more allergens than traditional feather and down bedding. Scientists at Wellington School of Medicine believe that the difference comes because of the looser weave of material containing synthetic bedding, allowing dust mite allergens to pass through freely and remain in your bedding. Whereas the closely woven fabric that houses feather and down prevents the penetration of these dust mite allergens.
If you are still unsure we will gladly send a sample to you to test before you purchase your bedding from us.

I live interstate can I still get my pillows rejuvenated?
- You most certainly can. We have many clients that post their quilts and pillows back to us for rejuvenation. When we receive your bedding we will assess then give you a ring with the costing options and only proceed on your approval. We process our interstate goods within 48 hours to ensure you are not without your bedding for an extended period of time.

What is Fill Power?
-
Fill Power is a term used that tells the quality and insulating value of the down. Technically fill power is a measurement of the amount of space 28grams of down will occupy in cubic inches when allowed to reach its maximum loft. The higher the fill power the higher the quality of down.
To test for fill power in Europe 28grams of down is placed in a 289mm diameter cylinder and then a compression weight of 94 grams is placed on this down, the level that the compression stops gives the fill power rating.
The difference between European testing and American testing is the diameter of the cylinder used. In the US they use a 241mm diameter cylinder and a 68gram compression weight therefore the down will loft higher and give a higher fill power reading. This is why we have noted both the European fill power and the US fill power rating to ensure you are fully informed on your purchase.
